Scheduling (Email or Slack)
We all would like business users to interact with our reports proactively. But their day is as hectic as yours and receiving a push notification by Email or in Slack is just convenient.
So, now you can also schedule a conversation when clicking on the Share Button.
Bonus: Reply to the scheduled push message in Slack, and Dot will keep the context.
Speed
Nobody ever said, I wish my computer would be slower. So we made Dot faster.
Average response times went down from 50 seconds to 23 seconds.
How did we do it?
GPT4o can’t just talk, it’s also significantly faster than GPT4-Turbo
By following in steps of Google and reducing tail latency
We’ll probably always struggle with that because we want Dot to do as much as possible when answering a user request (searching, reasoning, double-checking, visualizing, interpreting, …) but it should still be fast.
More Updates
Dot now shows which filters were used to answer questions, making results clearer.
Analyze Dot's usage by enabling the 🗨️ Dot Usage connector in Settings/Connections.
Dot will automatically detect the primary key of a table when you first enable it or click “Suggest.”
Dot learned to handle dates in Looker, ensuring the last day of a timeframe is included.
Dot also learned to handle case-sensitive Snowflake tables.
Dot can now connect to SAP HANA and DuckDB.
Dot now pulls semantic model descriptions and names from the dbt Semantic Layer, activating all fields by default.
Talk to you soon,
